Head Coach Donnie Spohn is entering his ninth year at Gulf Shores High School. Since beginning the baseball program Coach Spohn has amassed 169 wins and 118 losses. In 2003 he led the Dolphins to the State Finals where they finished runner-up. He was named 2003 Alabama Sports Writers Association Coach of the Year and Baldwin County Coach of the Year. Coach Spohn’s has led the Dolphins to the state play-offs six out of the last eight years. Nineteen former Dolphins have gone on to play at the next level; an accomplishment he takes great pride in.
Coach Spohn played high school baseball at Washington High School in Pensacola, FL earning All Area and All State honors. He played collegiate ball at Wallace State Community College in Dothan, AL. He went on to finish his education at the University of West Florida.
Donnie Spohn is married to the former Melanie Harrison. They have three children, Savanna, Garrett and Dalton.

Coach Trevor Powell comes to the Dolphins from Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette, AL. Coach Powell played varsity baseball for two years at BCHS and received a scholarship to play baseball at Faulkner State Community College. There he played three years, one year red shirt for shoulder surgery. Following a successful career at FSCC he received a gull scholarship to University of Mobile where he played two years and received two conference championship rings, one regional championship, and a berth to the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho. Coach Powell is the current record holder for appears in a season at UM with 25.
Powell graduated from UM with a bachelor's degree in social science and secondary education. He has been in public education for five years, four years at BCHS and one year at Foley High, coacing varsity baseball for all of them.
Coach Powell is a native of Bay Minette, AL.

Coach Baston played at Pensacola High where he was an All Big Five Conference selection as a outfielder in 1967. He also played at Pensacola Junior College.
Coach Baston is a former Head Coach and was selected as the Florida Athletic Coaches District Coach of the year in 1997 and 2005.
His Chattahoochee High School team got to the final eight as a Regional Finalist in 1997. Coach Baston is married to the former Sandra Arledge, and has two children and one grandchild. |

Coach Brian Parrish was born and raised in Pensacola, FL. Brian graduated from Pine Forest High School in 1990 where he played football and baseball. He was named to the all Northwest Florida baseball team, and to the Florida High School Athletic Association All Star team. He attended Alabama Southern Community College on a baseball scholarship from 1990 to 1992 and graduated with his AA. He then played at Livingston University from 1992 to the fall of 1993 on a baseball scholarship. An injury sidelined him after his junior year and he then took time away from college to work. He returned in 2004 to graduate from the University of West Alabama in 2006 with his B.S. in Physical Education and in 2008 with his Masters in Physical Education.

Coach Reichley is entering his sixth year as an assistant coach. He graduated and played baseball at Baker High School in Mobile, AL. He is a local business owner and graduate of Auburn University.
His wife Nelda is a teacher at Gulf Shores High School. They have two children, Mary Claire and Charles. |
